Strengthening your core is more than just for achieving six-pack abs. By developing stronger core muscles, you’ll be less likely to injure or strain your back muscles. Developing strong abdominal muscles may actually help prevent back pain by making you less prone to back injuries and teaching you proper spinal alignment.
Our abs are the front anchor of your spine therefore if they are weak the other structures, such as the back muscles, which support our spine will suffer.
Exercising is a great way to strengthen the core. Some effective core strengthening workout include:
- Planks
- V- ups
- Flutter kicks
- Crunches
- Russian twists
- Superman
Engaging in an exercise regimen that incorporates at least three these core exercises and done 3 times a week will create and stronger core and back.
